In my artist statement I outline three simple but thoroughly liberating concepts:
1. Free the mind of preconceptions- there are no mistakes.
2. As much as is humanly possible, work unfiltered and unfettered from conscious thought.
3. Know the rules, but work as if there are none.
This grants me license to be completely free in concept, content and technique.
The following pen and ink drawings are culled from a half dozen hardbound sketch books. Many of these represent core ideas, captured and solidified for use in future works.
